Michael grew up spending summers with his family at the Country Club of Darien. With so many fond family memories at CCD, Michael and his family decided that it was the perfect venue to host his marriage to Shanshan. Since Michael and Shanshan lived out of state, full service wedding planning was required and Events by Gayle was brought onboard. 

​

Gayle worked with the family on everything from creating Save the Date cards to building a team of bridal professionals for the couple's special day. As a special surprise for the couple, a fireworks display was planned as the evening's finale. Everyone on the wedding team was careful to keep this secret from the couple throughout the planning process.

​

Shanshan and Michael were married on a beautiful summer evening on the grounds of the country club. Every guest received a ceremony program and chinese fan at their seat. Cocktail hour included a Chinese station and an Antipasto station. The reception in the ballroom of the country club included a formal dinner and plenty of dancing. 

​

A delicious strawberry shortcake wedding cake was served for dessert along with pastries. Right before an evening thunderstorm rolled in, the fireworks display took place over the golf course, surprising all guests and the couple. A pizza truck served to-go pizzas for a late night snack on the shuttle bus back to the hotel.
