It takes a village to put together a wedding, whether it is 15 guests or 200 guests. But when there is a global pandemic and the engaged couple is in the front line, special assistance is needed. This was the mission of the "Essentially Wed" program, founded by Ellen Spirer of Please B Seated and Fairfield County Wedding Concierge co-founders, Gayle and Diana Palmentiero. Watching so many couples scramble as their weddings plans were in jeopardy, this team jumped in and came up with a program to giveaway a micro-wedding for a couple who's wedding was effected by the pandemic.
Some of the requirements that must be met to apply for the program included at least one half of the couple be an essential worker, live in Fairfield County, CT and their wedding plans had to have been immediately affected by the Covid pandemic. Of all the deserving couples that applied Liz and Don stood out; both worked in a hospital, came down with Covid, missed their engagement photo session and had to cancel their wedding.
A dream team of vendors came together and donated their time and services to make a micro wedding possible for Liz and Don. In just two months time a beautiful, curated wedding was planned with everything from a custom wedding cake and cookie favors to a lighted tent covering a farmhouse table with speciality tabletop place settings.
Elaborate florals flanked the custom arch put together by Events by Gayle for the wedding ceremony. Even the couple's neighbors helped out by allowing their home to be used for the bride's getting ready area and performing ceremony music on his electric piano.
Such a special, amazing day for Liz and Don and their families. The vendors were delighted to participate in something so unique. Even the local news station aired this couple's love story.
On behalf of everyone involved in Liz and Don's wedding, we wish them a lifetime of love, happiness and health!
